1 Month Surfing in Baleal - Portugal [EP.07]

The south of Portugal was beautiful! And the Algarve and Alentejo regions enchanted us. But VanLife was not as easy as you can imagine and unfortunately sleeping along the coasts is not always allowed. Our permanence there had a limited time so we decided to move further north… Baleal is a location situated in the north side of Peniche between Lisbon and Nazaré. This location is well known as a surf paradise! Baleal has a huge free parking lot where you can stay without problems and sharing Vanlife with many people. It’s not just a parking lot… It’s a real village with its own rules, people and vibes. It’s not just a surf spot but a real surf camp We decided to stay there for a while, living one place and trying to be part of that place for a period. We stayed there more than 20 days and we actually had the possibility to fully live the local vibes. Baleal is really good spot for surfing thanks to the shapes of its beaches: there are two beaches divided by a little peninsula. That creates the perfect situation: having two sides ocean allows you to have almost everyday good waves and when the wind is blowing from one side, maybe in the other side conditions are good We spent our days simply surfing, working and meeting new people around. We met lovely souls in those days: people that we never forget
