Part 1 - The Haydock Douay Rheims Bible - The Illuminati Bible?

I had one of my viewers tell me to look into the Haydock Douay Rheims, so I looked into it. Once I secured a copy, I began to do some research and much to my surprise I noticed it was called my some “the Illuminati Bible.” I had no idea why, until I saw the “All Seeing Eye” aka the “Eye of Providence” on the cover. Oh boy…I thought, this is going to be wild. It’s no secret that I’m not Catholic. It’s also no secret that the Roman Catholic Church has some symbols and practices that Protestants would find concerning. According to the Catholic Church, this is a Christian symbol, and being within the triangle points to the Trinity. The eye itself is rooted in many ancient religions, many believing it goes all the way back to Egypt. There are also rumors that it may even have Hebrew origin. It’s all speculation, but one thing is clear, it is controversial. Several variations of the symbol have varying meanings to include, the Eye of Horus, Freemasonry, the rumored Illuminati, and of course we see a variant on the dollar bill. The dollar shows it on top of a 13 layer pyramid symbolizing “God” watching over the 13 colonies. Does it make me uncomfortable? Yes. Do I have a definitive answer as to the source of this “eye of providence?” It depends on who you ask. Keep in mind this is a reproduction of a bible that was printed in 1859, so it’s very old. As far as the craftsmanship, you can tell this was a stunner in its day, because even the reproduction is beautiful. If you are interested in this one brace yourself, it’s expensive. Especially considering it is a paper over board hardback without any gilded page edges. What you are paying for is history. It’s interesting. It’s going to be controversial.
