Metro and V/Line Trains at Ginifer (Part 2)

Ginifer station, on the Sunbury line, is an unstaffed station which serves the western Melbourne suburb of St Albans. It opened in 1982 and, until the electrification of the line from Sydenham to Sunbury in 2002, it was served by V/Line as well as Metro trains. In 2015, with the grade separation of the adjacent Furlong Road level crossing, the station was rebuilt below ground and resembles a smaller version of neighbouring St Albans station which was rebuilt at the same time. Currently the station is served by Comeng and Siemens Metro trains, however, by the end of 2025 with the opening of the Metro Tunnel, HCMTs will take over these services.
