Join me for one of my most exciting edits yet, packed with epic dives, rare encounters, and some drama along the way. The adventure begins with a remote shore dive spearfishing mission alongside Brett Bickerton, owner of Bickerton Spearguns, and Joseph from Sharing the Wild. The coastline was alive with thick kelp beds, schools of rockfish, and an incredible diversity of marine life. We each speared our limits of rockfish, explored for lingcod and cabezon, and even swam through a cave where I had a rare encounter with a rock greenling. The next night, Joseph and I linked up again in Nanoose Bay, BC, for a night dive where I experienced my very first underwater encounter with opalescent squid. We also came across some unique creatures like the sailfin sculpin, making it an unforgettable dive. On the following night, I headed out solo for a night dive at Rocky Point Park in Nanaimo, BC. After some unexpected drama with a fisherman, I stayed focused on my goal: chumming the area in hopes of spotting a spiny dogfish, one of the most common shark species in Pacific Northwest waters. This video is packed with amazing swim-throughs, vibrant ecosystems, and some of my most memorable dives yet. I hope you enjoy the adventure as much as I did filming it.
