I Was Warned Not To Start This YouTube Channel. Then The Queen Noticed.

Six years ago, I started this channel during COVID lockdown. No plan. No budget. And more than a few people in uniform who thought it was a very bad idea. This week, something happened that made a lot of that feel worthwhile. Not because I've made it (I wish!). But because it's one of those moments where you stop, look back at the road behind you, and realise the decisions that felt hardest at the time were probably the right ones. In this video I'm reflecting honestly on the full six-year journey: what it actually cost to build something outside the wire professionally, why leaving the Army is harder than anyone prepares you for, and what it means to stay true to something when plenty of people would prefer you didn't. We've annoyed people along the way. That was probably unavoidable. But the mission has always been the same — give the next generation an unvarnished, honest picture of what military life actually looks like, and help good people prepare as best as they can. I'm grateful for the people who backed this when it wasn't the obvious thing to do. This video is as much for them as it is for you. If you're at a crossroads — military career, life after service, or just trying to build something that matters — this one might resonate. 📌 CHAPTERS 00:00 - The Week That Changed Everything 01:13 - Where It All Started: COVID & A Channel Nobody Wanted 04:20 - When The Army Got Involved (The Good & The Bad) 07:25 - Why Leaving The Army Is Harder Than Anyone Tells You 09:45 - Building 'The Army Bloke' From Scratch 13:53 - The Risk Nobody Warns You About 15:30 - Why This Moment Actually Matters 19:45 - What Comes Next 24:00 - The Platoon Commanders Ethos 🎯 WHO THIS CHANNEL IS FOR If you're preparing for officer selection (AOSB, Sandhurst, or beyond), navigating life in uniform, or figuring out what comes after service — this channel exists for you.
