Damien Hirst | La mirada ajena

General Directorate of Educational Television Series: The Other's Gaze Program: Damien Hirst Through testimonies from Hilario Galguera, curator and art promoter, Laura Barrera, cultural journalist, and Mauricio Galguera, we learn how Mexico, its folklore, and its chaos, became a watershed moment for Damien Hirst's work. His visits to Teotihuacan, the Arena Coliseo, lucha libre, and the streets of Mexico City, as well as his appreciation of the Day of the Dead and his exploration of death, are reflected in his exhibition "The Death of God," which offers a brief overview of how this great artist focused on Mexico, not merely as an experiment or a stopover, but as a center of work, a source of inspiration.
