"Illumination" - 90 Minutes of Generative Modular Ambient

After the time away from my synths I was enjoying this and let it run for 2 hrs (although my camera ran out of battery after 90 mins xD). The camera angle isn't too good, I thought it was better at the time thanks to the sun in my eyes haha, but the light is nice. I did also dust Crave before starting to record which unintentionally lead to the stray floating dust motes at the start. It's also my first patch in a while to use the modular and Crave together properly which I'm happy about, I tried to work three separate voices together, the mixer on Crave was very handy, I think a stereo mixer module would be one of the first things I'll put in a bigger Eurorack case. Modules: Behringer CP1-a power supply Pittsburgh Micro-sequence Micro Ornament and Crime (Benisphere firmware) After Later Audio Baker (MI Peaks clone) After Later Audio Beehive (MI Plaits clone) After Later Audio Monsoon (MI Clouds clone) Instruo Ochd ALM Tangle Quartet Microsequence is running in a random direction (with rests) and sequencing Beehive in wavetable mode. Ornament and Crime is running ProdDiv and Burst. ProbDiv is being triggered by the gate out of Crave which is running a 4 step sequence with one note then one rest (to make the gate outputs slower than the lowest setting on the tempo knob). ProbDiv is then triggering Baker and Burst. Baker is running in random AD envelope mode and patched to the VCF cuttoff on Crave to cause the bass swells, which is a square wave with PWM from the LFO and some resonance on the filter. The VCA is set to Drone. Burst is triggering grains from Monsoon. With some random jitter in the trigger spacing. Monsoon has a chord from Beehive frozen in the buffer which is voiced when grains are triggered, the position in the buffer is being slowly modulated to alternate the timbre (between filtered and slightly chorused). Ochd is modulating all over the place. Mainly, the Morph and Timbre on Beehive to keep the place in the wavetable moving subtlety. Beehives signal is mixed with Crave in the VC mix section on Crave, and the Mix out is patched to Monsoon. Tangle Quartet attenuates the output of Monsoon into the interface, and also an LFO from Ochd. Some limiting and EQ in the DAW.
