Today I went to the site of the former Reich Harvest Festival, which was held from 1933 to 1937. A truly interesting site, which, thankfully, was "rediscovered" in 2021 and is now designated a memorial. What has been completely forgotten, however, is the site of the Horst Wessel Memorial, just 12 km away as the crow flies. Inaugurated in 1939, it was blown up on April 20, 1945, on Adolf Hitler's birthday... and now lies forgotten in the forest... #hitler #ns #nationalsozialismus #lostplace #urbex #lostplaces
