After the "Two Towers" case was dismissed, National Prosecutor Korneluk issued a rescue statement that appears to be a desperate attempt to cover up the embarrassment of the National Prosecutor's Office. Instead of answering the question of why the case involving Kaczyński's supporters ended with a gift to the Law and Justice party (PiS), we were given an official smokescreen about "prosecutors' independence." However, a more brutal game is visible in the background: a cozy network within the Prosecutor's Office wants to get rid of Żurek because they know that the end of peace, the end of sham settlements, and the end of the protective umbrella over PiS affairs is imminent, while Minister Żurek has decided to take radical steps. Korneluk defends himself, the system's people defend their positions, and the public is being told that everything was handled according to procedure. However, this fairy tale has just shattered before everyone's eyes – the Prosecutor's Office was supposed to hold people accountable, but instead it has become an institution for sweeping the most important cases under the rug.
