A new video released by Manila of the latest Chinese-Filipino clash in the disputed South China Sea is likely to worsen already fraught ties between China and Philippines. The Philippines accused China’s Coast Guard of launching a “brutal assault” with bladed weapons during a South China Sea clash on June 17. A Philippine navy sailor suffered "serious injury" after the Philippines accused the Chinese coast guard of "intentional-high speed ramming". The Philippine military said China’s Coast Guard officers “illegally boarded” the Philippine rubber boats and “looted” equipment including guns.
