The title combines the names honouring Dilini Seneviratne's mother, Priyanthi Perera, and her dance gurus, Professor Mudiyanse Dissanayake and Ms Kumudu Perera, whose guidance, encouragement and belief have played an important role throughout her dance journey. This performance reflects that journey, from its earliest beginnings to the stage we celebrate today. It is a story of learning, perseverance, mentorship and passion, brought to life through the people who have been part of that journey along the way. Making this act even more special, it features the performers who have taken part in all five years of Narthana. These dancers have grown alongside the production itself, contributing not only their talent, but also their commitment, friendship and support over the years. As we celebrate five years of Narthana, Priyamudu serves as a reminder that no journey is ever travelled alone. Behind every dancer stands a community of teachers, family, mentors and friends who help make each step possible. Celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2026, Narthana is the UK's leading annual Sri Lankan cultural dance production, presented by Kandyan Dancers Company. Held at the Shaw Theatre, King's Cross, the sold-out showcase brings together performers of all ages to celebrate the richness and diversity of Sri Lankan dance through classical, folk and contemporary works. Curated by dance practitioner, choreographer and author Dilini Seneviratne, Narthana continues to preserve, promote and share Sri Lankan performing arts while supporting charitable causes.
