Il tuo cucciolo tira? Non fare questo errore

Does your puppy pull on the leash, constantly change direction, or freeze when faced with new noises and stimuli? In this video, we follow Rio's first urban walk, a 4-month-old Border Collie who, until now, had worked primarily indoors. The goal isn't to force him to walk perfectly alongside, but to help him understand that walking is something that dog and owner do together. During the lesson, we'll cover: • what to do when the puppy starts pulling • when to stop and when to change direction • how to allow him to sniff without being dragged along • why pulling him back can increase agitation and frustration • how to manage encounters with other dogs • how to use your body to protect him from traffic and noise • why it's important to include calm moments during the walk • how to reward your dog at the right time Walking well on a leash doesn't mean having a dog standing motionless next to your leg. It means building communication, collaboration, and safety, while also respecting the puppy's age, emotions, and needs. Rio is still very young and is experiencing an urban environment full of cars, noises, smells, and distractions for the first time. The work must therefore be gradual, consistent, and suited to his skills. 📍 Il Reame del Cane is a dog training center in Rho, just outside Milan.
