(May 26, 2019) World download finally available! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qufh... It's finally finished. I've been working on this on-and-off for a few weeks now. Some people have been shown WIP videos as I completed certain sections, but this finished version has made drastic changes to almost every section compared to the last WIP video I released. Q: How does it work? A: There is a giant "board" of sorts made of repeaters, creating a line that goes back and forth. An armor stand travels along this line (at 1 block every tick, or 1/20 of a second), reading blocks above it to determine which instruments to use, and reading signs placed on top of those blocks to determine which notes to play. Q: Why is this shorter/faster than the original song? A: Since Minecraft only ticks 20 times per second, I'm limited in the precision I can achieve with note timings. I opted for a higher BPM (150 compared to the original's 125) that would let me maintain a consistent tempo during sections where notes were being played faster. Q: Is this MIDI-accurate? A: Many notes were omitted due to not sounding as good with Minecraft instruments as they do on synths. That said, every note that is played corresponds to a note in the project file, with a couple exceptions. Q: Why do the drums suck so much? A: Sorry. The reason for this is twofold. First off, I'm lacking the plugin ExileLord used to handle most of the drums, so I have to go by ear most of the time. Second, Minecraft's drum selection is very limited; I only have access to the bass drum, snare drum, and some clicking thing. I do my best to make the most of them, but the original song uses multiple types of drums that I can't recreate in Minecraft.
