Лекция Ирины Горловой «Юрий Злотников. Не только «Сигналы»
The exhibition "Parallel Universes: From Abstraction to Artifact" features an educational program—a series of meetings with art historians, collectors, and researchers from the Tretyakov Gallery and the Russian Museum. They will discuss the artists and their "Universes," as well as the birth, difficult life, and triumph of "unofficial art" in Russia. The program is held in both Moscow and St. Petersburg. Yuri Zlotnikov was an outstanding Russian artist, a pioneer of post-war non-objective art, and a painter of reality, which was the most important source for him in comprehending, mastering, and inventing the language of art. Zlotnikov's main discovery, which has earned a lasting place in the history of Russian art in the second half of the 20th century, is his "signal system." Created in the second half of the 1950s, it represents a unique artistic experience in Russia, based on performative practice and inspired by the scientific advances of the era in mathematics, cybernetics, and psychology. The lecture will present Zlotnikov's art in juxtaposition with the works of artists he considered his "interlocutors"—Piet Mondrian, Kazimir Malevich, and Vladimir Favorsky. Lecturer: Irina Gorlova, art historian, curator, and head of the Department of Contemporary Art at the State Tretyakov Gallery. ______________________________________ ⠀ The AZ Museum is a contemporary museum and art laboratory, where a vibrant and dynamic narrative about the work of "unofficial artists" of the second half of the 20th century unfolds. ⠀ The museum's founders are collector and philanthropist Natalia Opaleva and curator Polina Lobachevskaya.
