ASMR Furniture Restoration | I Saved This Mid-Century Chair from the Trash

💬 Don't forget to turn on subtitles—they're part of the story!⚠️ This mid-century beech chair was abandoned on the street with loose joints, a missing stretcher, and another one badly chewed by a dog. Most people would have walked past it, but I saw its potential and decided to give it a second life. In this ASMR furniture restoration, you'll see the complete restoration process from start to finish: disassembling the chair, removing the old finish, repairing the damaged frame, recreating the missing wooden parts, sanding every surface, staining the wood in Antique Walnut, finishing it with Osmo Hardwax Oil, and upholstering the seat with a new fabric. For the upholstery, I wanted to preserve the chair's vintage character while adding my own design touch. I chose a vintage geometric fabric inspired by recent design trends and placed the pattern diagonally. It's a small detail, but I think it gives the chair its own personality without taking away its original charm. This fabric wasn't chosen by chance. I already had it in my workshop, so it also got a second life. Since this chair will be used in my own kitchen, practicality was just as important as appearance. The pattern hides everyday wear much better than a plain fabric. And because I have a cat, this fabric is far more practical than velvet, boucle, or leather, which wouldn't last very long. Instead of using lacquer, I chose Osmo Hardwax Oil because I love the natural feel of real wood. When you touch the finished surface, you feel the wood itself—not a thick layer of varnish. I love seeing potential where others see trash and giving forgotten furniture a second life. What do you think of the Antique Walnut finish? And how do you like the diagonal fabric pattern? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
