HS2 Waste Soil Train arrives for another unload at Rugby Quarry - Part 2 - RailCam Edition

12th March 2025 Three months on and I make a "slight return" to Warwickshire. Did you know that left over soil from the High Speed 2 Railway (HS2) is being used to backfill the long-disused limestone quarry in Rugby Warwickshire UK. The quarry is planned to be a nature reserve. The amount of soil dumped into the quarry to date is around 800,000 tonnes with over 500 trains already received. Ryan and I capture the action as a Class 66 (6R93) arrives at New Bilton Jarvis Sidings and the wagons unloaded. Nice to see the old Rugby to Leamington Line back in use.
