A Deo et Regina

World Premiere performance This is the first ever performance of this music commissioned by South Berks Concert Band as part of its celebration of its 50th anniversary. www'southberksmusic.org.uk The title, “A Deo et Regina”, is the motto on the Reading Borough coat of arms, and means “from God and the Queen”. The piece takes us through much of the history of Reading, and features a theme representing the famous Reading Abbey, the bucolic spirit of the “three B’s” – Beer, Bulbs and Biscuits, three industries that Reading is said to be built upon, and a more rhythmic section, which reflects the more recent growth of the technology industry in Reading.
