Income Tax Repeal Supporters Turn In Massive Signature Haul

Washington's income tax repeal effort has reached a major milestone. Let's Go Washington delivered what organizers say are more than 500,000 petition signatures to the Washington Secretary of State in an effort to place Initiative 26-645 on the November ballot. The initiative seeks to repeal Washington's newly enacted income tax on high earners. The Center Square was on scene as petitions were delivered and heard from Let's Go Washington founder Brian Heywood, Washington State Republican Party Chairman Jim Walsh, and investment advisor Zach Abraham about why they believe voters should have the opportunity to decide the future of the state's income tax. If enough signatures are validated, the repeal measure would join two other initiatives already qualified for the November ballot, setting up one of Washington's biggest policy battles of 2026.
