How I Shot This Editorial Portrait Session | Behind the Scenes

I've wanted to shoot an editorial portrait session featuring firefighter turnout pants for quite a while, and I finally got the chance with Gaby :) We shot at my studio , Off Studio, using nothing but the beautiful natural light pouring through the massive studio windows. To shape the light, I kept things simple by adding a few bounce boards... which are actually insulation boards from Home Depot. 🤫 (Don't tell anyone.) For this shoot, I used my Sony A7 IV paired with several Viltrox lenses. Since I recently broke my Viltrox 35mm f/1.2 (RIP 😭), i decided to use Viltrox AF 35mm f/1.8 EVO, and honestly, I came away seriously impressed. It's incredibly compact, affordable, and produced fantastic results. I also pulled out the Lomography Petzval 80.5mm for a few shots to add its unique vintage character to the set. In this behind-the-scenes vlog, you'll see the complete shoot—from lighting and posing to camera settings and the final images.
