POS-KUPANG.COM - The legal team for three members of the North Central Timor (TTU) Regency Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) and a civil servant (ASN) have requested that investigators from the NTT Regional Police's General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) clone the cell phone belonging to the late Dr. Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni, also known as Dr. Icha, and conduct an autopsy to scientifically determine the cause of death. Amos Lafu made the request on behalf of his clients, Therensius Lazakar (Golkar Party), Robert Tubani (PKB), Veronika Lake (PDI Perjuangan), and Maria Mathildis Sau, a civil servant from the TTU Animal Husbandry Service, after accompanying them for questioning at the NTT Regional Police on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Amos stated that these steps are necessary to ensure the investigation is conducted objectively and the case is clear and free from assumptions. According to him, communication activities and various events that occurred from the time the deceased was receiving treatment until before her death need to be traced through data stored on the victim's cell phone. He believes that cell phone cloning can be a tool to uncover relevant facts so that investigators do not need to rely on assumptions or one-sided judgments. Furthermore, he also asked investigators to consider performing an autopsy on the deceased's body.
