The historical archive of Iriense TV-Oltrepo Media is enriched with another interesting "audiovisual document" that takes us through the pages of the history of the "world" of bocce... This time we are at the "temple" of Voghera bocce... the MERLI indoor bowling alley in Voghera, May 13, 1987, on the occasion of the 1st edition of the "Alessandro Ventura Memorial," a competition for 128 individual players, Category A, organized by the Voghera D.L.F. An important competition, with Voghera's Massimo Zerba (Bocciofila Ravazzoli di Casteggio) and Enrico Cambieri (Bocciofila AVIS Pavia) reaching the final for a must-see final challenge, which was resolved after a thrilling battle before the winner was declared...the referee of the grand final was Mr. Angiolino Taverna. A pleasant dive into the past, with a video that allows us to "re-enter" the "MERLI"...re-visit local faces and people, familiar to most, when there were still facilities, lanes, and bowling alleys, and Voghera could host high-level bowling meetings and competitions, attracting champions and enthusiasts to watch "live"...with facilities and bowling greens scattered throughout the area. The video we offer you was created by videomaker Ferruccio Verri, with the ever-timely and attentive commentary of Giorgio Macellari, ...and so the "nostalgia operation" continues, recalling how in the past, bowls (in addition to being a sport for all...) also served as a driving force for the entire sports movement in Voghera and the Oltrepo Pavese area, as well as a means of socializing and meeting people.
