Epic V9 - first time in the sea
An opportunity after the recent wind and waves died down, to try the surfski in the sea. I also wanted to try out the GoPro remote and the deck mounting. We were at one of my favourite locations; Rhosneigr on the south west coast of Anglesey, North Wales, UK. Easy launching and an interesting bay which can throw up big waves after a storm. Waves in the bay are usually quite kind as the bottom slopes gradually towards the beach. From the town section of the beach one can launch in easy conditions, if there are any waves they'll show themselves towards the middle of the bay. At the mouth of the bay any underlying swell is usually apparent. We meandered across the bay through the rocks into Cymyran bay and soon found some small surf. After having some fun in the little waves we headed across the bay to where the ebbing stream was flowing out between Holy Island and Anglesey. Back for lunch then, a change of GoPro mounting and some more fun was had in the small waves in Rhosneigr bay. I was impressed with how the ski caught the subtle waves. A most enjoyable session and Paul also had a great time in his Carbonology Cruise X RT.
