Leaving Home... Starting Over | Walking & Talking Tuesday | Ep 13

Today marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. After saying goodbye to our townhouse in Ohio, I sell our family car, pack away decades of memories, close the storage unit one last time, and begin the nearly eight-hour drive north to the cottage that Nancy and I dreamed of calling home together in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula. This isn't about moving on. It's about moving forward. Along the way, I reflect on grief, sunsets, shared dreams, faith, and what it means to keep living after losing the person you love most. Every mile north reminds me that while life has changed forever, love doesn't end—and neither does purpose. When I finally arrive at the cottage, a breathtaking Upper Peninsula sunset seems like the perfect way to close one chapter and quietly welcome the next. Whether you're grieving the loss of a spouse, navigating a major life transition, rediscovering purpose after retirement, or simply looking for the peace and beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, I'm grateful you're here. This is the beginning of a brand-new season. Welcome to the journey.
