It's a mountain climber's dream!⛰ As its name suggests, its pointed rocky peaks, resembling the tip of a spear, never cease to fascinate climbers.😊 I went to Mount Yari for a two-day, one-night trip.✨ The 360-degree view of the Northern Alps from the summit of Japan's fifth-highest mountain was truly amazing.✨ This video covers the second day of what was truly an amazing two-day trip. ◆The Ridgeline from Mount Yari to Mount Minami The ridgeline from Mount Yari to Mount Minami was truly beautiful. Along the way, you can reach the peaks of Mount Daikui (10), Mount Nakadake (12), and Mount Minamidake (17), all of which are listed as Japan's 100 Highest Mountains. With Mount Yari behind me, the Hotaka mountain range in front, and the Northern Alps lining the horizon, it was a spectacular ridge walk. Despite the stunning views, sun protection is a must. ◆ Shishihana Observatory and Minami-dake New Trail Shishihana Observatory 🔭 is about a 5-minute walk from Minami-dake Hut. From here, you can get a great view of the Okirito, one of Japan's three major kilettes. You can also see the trail from the Okirito to Hasegawa Peak and Mt. Kitahotaka. It's a trail I'd like to take someday, once I'm at a level where I can do it.⛰ The Minami-dake New Trail, connecting Minami-dake Hut and Yarihira Hut, is steep and full of scree. Some people say it's dangerous, but I'd like to share what it's like to actually go there. (I thoroughly researched it beforehand, and finally confirmed with the Minami-dake Hut staff that it was passable. Don't worry, it's not a reckless challenge.) Yarihira Hut - Migimata Forest Road - Shinhotaka - Nabedaira Plateau Parking Lot [About Mt. Yari] This mountain has been selected as one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains and one of Japan's 100 Famous Flower Mountains. It lies on the border between Matsumoto City and Omachi City in Nagano Prefecture, and Takayama City in Gifu Prefecture. Kyuya Fukada, who selected the 100 Famous Mountains, wrote that Mt. Fuji and Mt. Yari are two of Japan's most iconic mountains. Just as it is common for ordinary people to climb Mt. Fuji at least once in their lifetime, he wrote that there is no one who has even begun to take an interest in mountain climbing who would not first like to stand on the summit of Mt. Yari. Particularly famous traverse courses are the Omote Ginza Course and the Uraginza Course. (Omote Ginza Course) A course starting from Nakabusa Onsen, passing through Mount Tsurugidake and Mount Daitenjo, and then along the Higashikama Ridge. (Uraginza Course) A course starting from Takase Dam, passing through Mount Washu and Mount Sugoroku, and then along the Nishikama Ridge. It was truly a carrot-and-stick experience. [Parking] 　・Municipal Parking Lot No. 3 Approximately 250 spaces, free, portable toilets available (summer and autumn only) ※ Toilets are available as you walk to Shinhotaka Center. ※ There is a sharp left turn between the tunnels, so it may be difficult to find. 　　※ It may be a good idea to add Miyamaso to your navigation system. *This is a highly competitive area, so be prepared for the possibility of it being full. Nabedaira Kogen Hiker's Parking Lot Approximately 150 spaces, free, toilets available (Nabedaira Park Parking Lot Toilets) *There are clean toilets in the Nabedaira Park Parking Lot, a 2-3 minute walk from the parking lot entrance. *We came here because the city-run Parking Lot No. 3 was full. Nabedaira Park Parking Lot Approximately 120 spaces, free, no toilets (you can use the Shinhotaka Center toilets) *This parking lot is labeled "park user parking."
