OLD vs NEW: FUJITEC elevators @ Block 63 Toa Payoh Lorong 5

Timestamps: 0:00 Introduction 0:12 Lift A 2:17 Lift B Timeline: • 1966 — Blk 63 Toa Payoh Residential HDB was completed. These lifts have been originally manufactured by FUJI as well! The exterior call buttons have large up/down arrows used in FUJI lift installations, way before FUJI was renamed to FUJITEC. The model of Fujitec lifts used was Fujipet AC/2 Relay Alternating-current 2-speed Dyne Geared (A2DG) and had a capacity of 8persons or 540kg each. • Mid-1990s — These Fujitec lifts were given an aesthetic refurbishment to blue interior with metallic buttons. • 1997 — The Mediacorp Channel 8 Show, Facing The Music 钢琴88, was filmed. Featuring the lift in Episodes 1, 2, 3 and 4. During filming, they used Blk 63 Toa Payoh, but pasted “BLK 88” over the original signage above the lifts to fit the theme of the show. • 2003 to 2004 — Lifts A and B were completely replaced by Fujitec again, into the typical "Diamond-Window" type. The model of lift used is Fujitec Exceldyne ii (EXDN-II). Lift A serves Storeys 1 to 10. Lift B serves Storeys 1 to 12. Both have a capacity of 13persons/885kg. Announcements for both lifts have worn out. • 2026 — Filmed the lifts here on Tuesday, 16 June, 1034hrs to 1050hrs with a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G handphone.
