Hackear la industria de la moda es innovación | Ornella Basilotta | TEDxBuenosAiresCiudad
How can we make innovation a driver of change and transformation? How can we shift from inertial and inefficient production systems to new models with a triple bottom line: social, environmental, and economic impact? We need to modify our thinking and purpose and become "hackers"—of ideas, but also of action—mobilizing structures and moving toward new, more equitable, ethical production paradigms committed to climate action. Ornella is a designer and entrepreneur. She has over 15 years of experience in the world of local clothing design and production. Her deep interest in environmental stewardship and sustainable development led her to found—along with her sisters—Fracking Design, a company dedicated to designing various complementary, sustainable, and triple-impact items made from the plastic sand bags discarded by oil companies in Vaca Muerta. Their products received the "Good Argentine Design" Seal, and they were recognized as "Entrepreneurs of the Year" by the Buenos Aires City Legislature. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
