I Used to Hate Border Crossings 🇨🇱🇦🇷 Lanín → Villarrica 🛵🌎 s06e37

Some border crossings are stressful. This one became one of my favorites. Today’s ride takes me from Argentina into Chile through the spectacular Mamuil Malal border crossing, surrounded by two national parks, ancient araucaria forests, crystal-clear rivers and the majestic Lanín Volcano. What I expected to be another day of paperwork turned into one of the most scenic motorcycle rides of the journey. Along the way I ride through Lanín National Park, cross into Villarrica National Park, admire two perfectly visible volcanoes, discover beautiful lakes, enjoy endless curves, and even find the perfect empanada with a volcano view. Sometimes the best travel days are the ones you never expected. 📍 Route: Aluminé → Mamuil Malal border crossing → Pucón → Villarrica → Puerto Fuy 🛵 Bike: KTM 390 Adventure “Cherry” 📆 Date: December 27, 2025 🔥 About this trip: I’m riding my KTM 390 Adventure (nicknamed Cherry) from Colombia all the way to Ushuaia — exploring South America one road at a time.
