The original plan was to first move the current Maruk-dong ammunition depot into the military airport and then relocate both the airport and the depot together when the time was right. However, with the military airport site now designated for semiconductor production, the proposed site for the ammunition depot is drawing attention. This is because a so-called "parallel approach" is being considered as a method to proceed with the relocation while simultaneously breaking ground on the semiconductor factory, rather than the phased, sequential method of building the semiconductor plant after the military airport has been completely relocated.
