Lady's Mile Holiday Park | Tour & Review Of The Dawlish Holiday Park
Join us as we spend a weekend in Lady's Mile Holiday Park in Dawlish, Devon. We show you what there is to do, not just in the park but also in the surrounding area and hopefully let you know whether it is the park you should visit for a holiday. Lady's Mile Holiday Park is an independent site, and hopefully our vlog will let you know what to expect if you visit? Was it any good for a family of four with a dog? Firstly, the Accommodation. We booked a two bedroomed lodge with jacuzzi and got it for a staggeringly low price of £280 for a weekend at the end of February. We have to say that if we were to score the accommodation out of ten, it got eleven! This was by far one of the best accommodations we have ever stayed in on a park. Even though it was dog friendly and minus a carpet, it was still exceptionally welcoming and very spacious. Equipped with an Air Fryer, Dishwasher, a TV that gave us Netflix and Youtube, we knew that comfort was not something we would be lacking over the weekend. The beds were soft, and we even had towels and luxuries laid out in the bedrooms adding that extra but of luxury. Then there was the jacuzzi, which was that added extra that was a lovely escape on the cold nights. Park and the facilities… Lady's Mile Holiday Park is a big park. Our Lodge was up at the top of the park and as you will see on the video, we actually got lost on our way home one evening. It could definitely do with more lighting! It accommodates camping tents, as well as tourers and has a selection of static homes and lodges. But most space does appear to be taken up by season pitch tourers and their owners. Some caravans actually looked like they had been there years and were quite dirty, giving a sort of shanty town vibe. But this does indicate that it is a popular park with a lot of people wanting to visit it on a regular basis. It has a bike activity track, dog walking area, a small play park for kids, and an outdoor pool in the grounds. It is worth noting the outdoor pool does have a flume but was not open during our visit. There is a launderette and various outside toilet blocks for the campers also, all of which looked very clean. The park is situated on a gradient, but nothing that resembled some of the heart attack hills that we have encountered in other parks. It also has a little onsite shop which provided anything you may feel you need, although as per normal onsite shops, the prices are slightly inflated. Inside the complex. There is a good-sized complex which hosts: An arcade A Gym Indoor Pool – which did not require booking and can be used as long as you want, so definite big tick there Fish & Chips Takeaway Soft Play Area Pool table area Restaurant Bar Entertainment area – We saw the children’s entertainment which Amy enjoyed. Not quite up to Haven or Butlins standards but entertaining for little ones. And you obviously have Bingo… Food & Drink The drinks were all reasonably priced, but we were not that impressed, as you will see on the video. £81 for a for four, but that did include two steaks meals. Unfortunately, though, they were just not that tasty and we do not think lived up to the price tag. The fish and chip takeaway did get a thumbs up from the kids though and you may find that to be better option if you are feeding a large family. One good point to note for dog owners is that the restaurant and bar area, do have section where you can sit inside with them to eat and drink. On our last night we went for a Chinese from a local shop, 5 minutes’ drive away at Dawlish Warren beach area – Note, if you fancy one, they only take cash! Location The park is 5 minutes’ drive away from Dawlish Warren and the beach. It has fair ground, ice cream shops and all the normal tourist traps. Beach is long, but breakwaters do prevent you from having a long stroll without hurdling every so often. Dawlish itself has a couple of beaches, not up to Cornish or North Devon standards, but still gives you a chance to walk on the sand, so was pleasing for us. Overall, how did we find our weekend at Lady's mile and would we go back? The accommodation was exceptional as was the price. The park itself does have everything you need to keep yourselves and kids occupied. But due to it having so many seasonal pitch owners there, it does feel as if you have ventured into someone’s local neighbourhood. This we found prevented the kids from making new friends as all others hung around in groups. The location is nice, but we are beach lovers and as a result, will probably not return as the beaches did not offer the water sport opportunities we love. Definitely worth a visit, but for ourselves, it will be onto pastures new in the future. #ladysmile #ladysmileholidaypark #dawlishholidaypark After music for your videos? https://share.epidemicsound.com/r8rllo BECOME A MEMBER: / @thehadwinstv FOLLOW US: / thehadwinscom FIND US ON THE WEB: https://www.thehadwins.com/ CONTACT US: [email protected]
