Although the word "Kawthar" originally means "plenty of good," here it is interpreted with meanings such as knowledge, deeds, honor in both worlds, the Holy Quran, prophethood, wisdom, and the multitude of your community. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the Kawthar, he said, "It is a river that Allah has given me in Paradise; it is whiter than milk, sweeter than honey, colder than snow, and softer than foam. Its edges are of gold, its bed is of pearls and rubies, its soil is more fragrant than musk, and its bowls are as numerous as the stars of the sky. Whoever drinks from it once will never thirst again!" Some hadiths narrate that the Kawthar is a pool that one will visit before the Sirat on the Day of Judgment. According to Qadi Iyad, there are two pools belonging to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), one before the Sirat and the other after it, and both are named Kawthar. (Bayzavi, Nasafi, Hazin, Alûsî) 2 Therefore, establish prayer in your Lord and sacrifice in His name (in opposition to those who sacrifice in the name of their idols) for the sake of Allah Almighty (and thus distribute the meat of the sacrificed animals to the needy)! 3 Indeed, whoever is angry with you is the one who is cut off from all good! During the Meccan period, when Qasim, the firstborn of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), died at the age of two, one of the polytheists, As ibn Wa'il, attributed to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the attribute of "Abtar," meaning "one whose generation does not live." This verse was then revealed, explaining that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is the father of all believers until the Day of Judgment. Therefore, his memory will live forever.
