I Thought This Was a Cycling Trip. I Was Wrong.

For four years, I thought I was making videos about cycling Japan's famous Shimanami Kaido cycling journey. I thought the story was about the bridges. The scenery. The islands. The challenge. I was wrong. What I discovered was something much deeper. This video is about friendship, loss, adventure, resilience, and the people who taught me what a rich life truly looks like. At ages 60, 70, and 80+, these cyclists traveled thousands of miles from Alaska, Australia, Japan, and the United States to spend time together, create memories, and share one more adventure. It's a story about friendship. About aging with purpose. About the value of shared experiences. About the "Currency of Nostalgia." Because the older I get, the more I realize that some of the most valuable things in life aren't things at all. They're memories. The stories we share. The adventures we take together.
