MWUZURO: Ndishimye Cyane

MWUZURO (born July 15, 2004) is a Rwandan poet and scenarist, who became a beloved figure on TikTok for his emotional poetry videos and films. He discovered his love for writing at an early age (around 5 to 10 years old), and grew up creating simple plays, stories, and poems. Later, MWUZURO pioneered uniting poetry and film (crafting poems in the form of films). MWUZURO is a Rwandan artist (filmmaker, poet, author, scenarist, and writer-actor) who became a popular figure on TikTok, especially in 2024. MWUZURO discovered his love for poetry at an early age, around 5 to 10 years old, and grew up writing and performing poems. He began sharing his work professionally in 2022 with his debut piece, "Ibaruwa." Through prestigious competitions like the Art Rwanda Ubuhanzi (second edition), where he emerged a winner, MWUZURO quickly gained recognition as a standout artist. His success continued as he became one of the most beloved poets-filmmakers on TikTok, with fan support surpassing that of similar artists in Rwanda. He has reached several major milestones, including the release of his critically acclaimed poetry album "2004", which features 10 powerful pieces such as Ibirenze Amagambo, Kubera ko Ngukunda, and 2004 II. Today, MWUZURO continues to bring new life to words by uniting poetry and film. By uniting poetry and film, he crafts a unique genre that brings new life to words.
