The DESECRATED CORPSE of KATHERINE PARR
Katherine Parr, the sixth and final wife of Henry VIII, married him in 1543 and served as a supportive and capable queen until his death in 1547 . She then married Thomas Seymour, but their union was short-lived as she died in 1548 after childbirth . Katherine was buried at Sudeley Castle, and her funeral reflected the religious changes of the time . Her body was rediscovered in the 18th century, and subsequent examinations revealed her well-preserved remains . Unfortunately, her body was mistreated during reburials in the late 18th century . Finally, in 1817, her remains were reburied with dignity, and a fitting monument was erected in the 19th century . Today, Katherine Parr rests in a renewed chapel at Sudeley Castle.
