Dubkasm Dub Tips 01 - Aux Send Basics

Welcome to the first of Dubkasm’s top 10 Dub Tips, a series of short films aimed at producers wanting to experiment with some classic dub reggae production techniques. Dubkasm comprises Stryda and Digistep who presents the series from the Dubkasm studio in Bristol, UK. They offer this series as a thank you to supporters of their music and the scene, marking 20 years since their first vinyl release in 1996. Whether you are completely new to dub and reggae, or an experienced producer, we hope they provide inspiration for your own productions regardless of genre. These approaches can be applied to any style of music! __________________________________________________________ Tip 1: Auxiliary Send Basics This video, aimed at newcomers to dub mixing, shows how auxiliary sends can be used to create a new interpretation of a track by manipulating them in real time, concluding with a live mix example where Digistep (Ben Glass) dubs a remix of Kahn’s track ‘Dread’, with Mark Iration (Iration Steppas) on vocals.
