Why I still use old midi sequencers

I like to keep my old midi sequencers around for those days when I need a little boost of creativity or inspiration. Setting up an old school sequencer rig, messing around and recording something on that, will take my brain into another direction and the result will be different. I always hope that the difference will be magic. Nostalgia can be a great thing. It can also be a dead end. One never knows. It's like opening a box of chocolates. 00:00 Why did I keep all those sequencers? 02:14 The setup 03:35 Yamaha QX5FD 04:35 Recording Electric Piano on midi channel 1 05:20 Exchanging tracks 05:37 Recording Bass on midi channel 3 06:50 Quantizing the bass 08:00 Layering strings - Chord intervals in depth 09:20 Recording Strings on midi channel 2 10:28 The Lead melody line 11:32 What synths did I use?
