His grandfather's farm, which grew the traditional vegetable "Hiroshima cabbage," went out of business. This sparked his interest in agriculture. After initially working as a company employee, he spent two years apprenticing from age 25. At age 27, he became an independent farmer, a komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach) farmer in Hiroshima City. Currently, he owns 1.2 hectares of greenhouses, earns ¥85 million in annual sales, and employs six people. He's not always taught about these techniques and knowledge. It's too late to ask now.
