The Zero-Tariff Journey of Kenyan Avocados to China

Kenya’s Avocado famers can now export their products duty free to China. This comes after Beijing granted zero-tariff treatment to 53 African countries, including Kenya. This makes China the first major economy to offer unilateral zero-tariff treatment to Africa. As of December 2024, Beijing had already implemented a duty-free policy for 33 least-developed African nations. The policy now covers additional countries.
