Unbreaking the Galgo - Helping the Castoff Dogs of Spain

A Sound Beginning Program is a group of positive reinforcement dog trainers who specialize in working with fearful dogs. In June of 2016 the team was invited to the Benjamin Mehnert Foundation shelter in Spain along with Love, Hope, Believe Galgo Adoption on an educational mission to teach the staff and volunteers who work every day with abused and fearful Galgos. Our eyes were opened to the plight of this beautiful breed and how thousands upon thousands are killed and abused each year in Spain. This is a short film about our experiences living and working in the shelter with the resilient Galgos and the dedicated people who work so hard to save them. Please watch and help us to spread the word and raise awareness about what is happening to the Spanish Galgo. We cannot turn a blind eye - it is time for the mass abuse and killing to stop.
