500km Alone in a Remote Desert… Then This Happened

✦ Episode 42 – 500km Alone in the Desert 🇨🇱🇧🇴 This is the crossing. I leave San Pedro de Atacama and head toward Uyuni — a roughly 500km route across one of the most remote deserts in the world. No backup. Just high altitude, sand, and whatever happens out there. The route climbs up onto the Altiplano, pushing over 4,000–5,000 metres, where the air gets thin and the terrain gets rough. What looks like a simple track on a map quickly turns into deep sand, endless corrugations, and long stretches of complete isolation. And then… it goes wrong. A moment that changes the entire ride. From there, it’s a question of whether I can keep going — or if this is where the journey ends.
