Penny the Wild Turkey - Another Mild Day

Penny the Wild Turkey on a partially sunny and mild day. It seems like all the animals are getting more in the spring mood. So Penny will likely enjoy the sun, if she gets any, and also some walkabouts. Penny is a wild turkey that is on her own. Her mom Henny taught her about our house for a winter, but now it's just Penny. She has always been a bit timid but she is getting more confident all the time. Turkeys are quite social but Penny only has squirrels for friends, and Sassy the cat as a frenemy. When it is quite cold she likes to stay mainly in the straw nests I put out for her. But, on warmer days she tours around the neighborhood and forest more. We expect that she will range widely in the spring and summer and we won't see her much then. She is still a wild turkey, she comes and goes as she pleases! But she feels quite safe in the turkey world I shovel and maintain for her.
