Growing Runner Beans in Pots III: Building a support framework for your beans in pots

Creating a support framework for Runner Beans plants to climb within pots In this tutorial I will show you step by step how to create and build a support framework from bamboo canes to give your runner bean plants a structure to cling to while they grow taller. Just some of the benefits of a good support frame are: The runner beans must have a support otherwise they will not be able to crop. The taller the runner bean plants grow the more beans they are able to produce. The stronger the framework the better the beans withstand wind and weather conditions. Ideal for growing in pots on patios, balconies and small spaces. For the framework you will need: 3 bamboo canes per pot. Each cane needs to be a minimum length of 2 metres with one end tapered to make them easier to tie together. Soft but strong garden twine to tie the bamboo canes together. Scissors to cut the garden twine. Watering can. You will need to water the pot well first to enable you to push the canes to the bottom of the pot.
