Released earlier this year, critically acclaimed pairing Pale Blue, aka Mike Simonetti (Italians Do It Better) and Elizabeth Wight (Silver Hands), once again showcased precisely why their wide-reaching, expansive material and music is so well loved within the electronic realm. Offering an eight-track journey into their own idiosyncratic and singular universe in the form of their latest album ‘Maria’, the project was also accompanied by a selection of stellar remixes and reworks from the likes of Fort Romeau, DJ Tennis, Perel, Kölsch and Rebolledo, and Damian Lazarus’ renowned Crosstown Rebels imprint once again explores a fresh interpretation to close out its 2023 schedule, welcoming legendary DJ/producer and electronic pioneer Sasha to the label for the first time as he remixes the entrancing ‘The Last Song’. “Buzzing be remixing for Crosstown Rebels. I loved the Pale Blue album when it dropped earlier this year. That spiritual, introspective sound drew me in, and ‘The Last Song’ reminded me a little of the Julee Cruise music from the 90s that graced many an ambient room mix. I have tried to keep the rawness of the original song but also channel some of that 90s hedonistic energy into this mix.” - Sasha.
