One year after the Air India Flight AI-171 crash in Ahmedabad, families of victims continue to grapple with unbearable loss and unanswered questions. The London-bound flight crashed shortly after take-off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, striking a hostel complex in Meghani Nagar and killing 260 people, including passengers, crew, and residents on the ground. Only one passenger survived. Relatives of victims, including Akash and several grieving parents, shared emotional accounts of the final moments, long searches for loved ones, and the lasting trauma that followed. Rescue workers, police, and emergency responders also recalled the chaos at the crash site, where fire, smoke, and wreckage made operations extremely difficult.
