You Think It Means You're Failing | Father Turbo's Homily | 11 Jun 26

Are you feeling as if you’re failing? It might actually be a sign of progress. Many Christians think their struggle means they're failing. Father Turbo says it means the opposite. In this homily, Father draws the lives of Virgin-martyr Theodosia of Constantinople (martyr of the icons) and St. Luke, hierarch-surgeon of Simferopol, Crimea (surgeon, bishop, and Soviet prisoner). He unpacks a three-stage framework: slave, soldier, son. Many seasoned Christians have reached the soldier stage, serving God for reward, dignity, and identity. But the son is different. The son finds the commandment he doesn't want to keep and obeys it out of love. Metropolitan Login's question: Who are the saints? His answer: they're the ones who loved God the most.
