Two ancient cities in the mountains above Antalya, which guidebooks don't mention much about – and rightly so, because they simply must be seen. Termessos is a city that Alexander the Great looked down on in 324, declared "no way," and moved on. The Solymians built it so high that even he gave up. It ended differently than by sword – an earthquake destroyed the aqueducts, the water ran out, and people simply left. The amphitheater is now very quiet and beautiful. Sagalassos: 8 euros admission, a second-century fountain that still functions, and a theater that, according to archaeologists, was never completed – because the city ran out of money.
