[SOLD] 1968 Ford Mustang 289 Coupe For Sale
1968 Ford Mustang 289ci V8 / Automatic VIDEO WITH LISTING VIN: 8T01C166120 8: 1968 Model Year T: Metuchen, New Jersey Assembly Plant 01: Coupe C: 289ci 2V V8 166120: Unit Number Exterior: Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. Every blemish on the car is shown close-up and in direct sunlight. Paint is a respray of what appears to be close to Gulfstream Aqua, a correct ‘68 Mustang color. Paint presents very well, with just a few very minor blemishes which are noted in the video. An A- from a cosmetic perspective. Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. Black vinyl top is in excellent condition. One very small imperfection as shown in the video, but extremely nice overall. All chrome is like-new. Bumpers are fantastic, trim pieces are all in great shape as well. Polished wheels show no damage or oxidation. You may note one missing centercap in the photos, we have since installed one. Primewell Sport tires show little to no wear and the DOT number indicates they were manufactured in 2016. Interior: Black vinyl interior is very nice. Seats show no signs of age or wear both front and rear. Impressive condition. The dash pad is not cracked, warped, or discolored either. The gauge cluster shows a bit of age by way of discoloring of the polished rings around the gauges. Gauges are all functional, including the odometer, which reads 24,252 miles. We are not positive of actual mileage, and have to assume the odometer has rolled over. Air conditioning is not functional. The compressor is there and is free, but air does not blow cold. Heat, fan, and defrost are functional. Radio is not functional. Black carpeting is nice throughout, with just a little bit of wear in the driver’s footwell. The car will come with black Shelby floormats as well. Headliner is nice and tight. Under the Hood / Underbody: Please take a look through the underbody photos, as it’s documented in detail. Underbody is decent. No through structural rust or damage to note, but the car was undercoated years ago and that’s flaking off now and doesn’t look too pretty. Floors show nice clean black metal. This car is turn-key. A ready driver. It fires right up first turn, idles cool and steady, sounds fantastic (has a Thrush exhaust), pulls hard through the gears, shifts smoothly and without hesitation, and brakes well. It tracks straight both under acceleration and braking. This C-code car is powered by a 289ci 2V V8, as it should be, though we are not positive if it retains the original block or not. With any further questions, requests, or to discuss purchasing, please reach out to Jake at 773-267-2684.
