Pakistan Navy's Dual-Submarine Strategy Explained | Hangor Class & S800 SWATS

Pakistan is pursuing a dual-submarine strategy designed to strengthen both long-range maritime deterrence and coastal defense capabilities. Under this approach, the new Hangor-class submarines will conduct offensive and forward-deployed operations across the Arabian Sea, Pakistan's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), and the wider Indian Ocean, helping secure critical sea lines of communication. At the same time, Pakistan is exploring a Shallow Water Attack Submarine (SWATS) program for operations in coastal and shallow waters.
