Top 3 on Two Stages, One Disaster Stage | USPSA Match Breakdown

The June 2026 True North USPSA match was a short but challenging one, with only 6 stages due to the extreme summer heat. Despite the conditions, this was one of my most accurate matches of the year, finishing with approximately 85% of available points and landing Top 3 in Limited Optics on two stages. Unfortunately, Stage 2 turned into a costly lesson. A double feed forced me to rip the magazine out and reload, and later I skimmed a piece of distant steel that I thought had fallen. After realizing it was still standing, I had to go back and engage it again. Combined, those mistakes likely cost me around 7 seconds on a stage that could have been one of the fastest runs of the day. While my accuracy continues to improve, I still gave away points with a handful of mikes on targets where I didn't fully confirm the shot before moving on. That's the next area of focus as I continue pushing toward consistent A-Class performance. Match Results: • Limited Optics Division • Top 3 stage finishes on 2 stages • 85% points scored • 7th Overall in Division • 6-stage match due to excessive heat The takeaway from this match is simple: accuracy is improving, but confirmation and discipline still matter. One malfunction and one assumption can erase an otherwise great performance. Thanks for watching!
