In England, at RAF Brize Norton, interviews were held with Lieutenant Colonel John Owen of 42 Marine Commando Royal Marines who said that he felt they were making history and couldn't believe the time had come to withdraw. All went very smoothly and the men took it very well considering that they handed over to the people who had been killing their colleagues. Brigadier Dick Jeffries, Commander of Aden Brigade said that he was pleased to be back and felt a sense of achievement and praised the troops especially the younger ones. Source: Getty Images.
