Creating your own unique fabric backgrounds to stitch on is a really fun and creative thing to do. A well chosen background fabric can really enhance your piece of stitching or embroidery. Sometimes what you would like is just not available at all... The good news is that you can paint your own custom fabric using either acrylic paints or Inktense blocks as I am using here. Painting fabric is a very different technique than painting on paper. In this video I'm showing you how I paint beautiful pieces of watercolour-like background fabric. Use the resultant pieces for sewing and stitching. Lovely results are easy to achieve.... just have a go and see what happens!
